Date Nut Ladoo | Mix Dry Fruit Laddu | Date Nut Energy Balls

Date Nut Ladoo is a guilt free dessert for any occasion. It is a healthy sugar free energy ball with the goodness of different nuts and the natural sweetness of dates.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 Cup Mixed roasted nuts Almond, Cashew, Walnut, Peanut, Pistachios, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Ghee
  • 1 1/2 Cup Dates pit and chop
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom powder

Optional:

  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds Roasted (optional)

Instructions

  • Dry roast the nuts in a pan, one by one on low heat.
  • You can run the nuts in a blender just for a few seconds to get a coarse powder.
  • Heat ghee in a pan over low heat, add in the chopped dates and roast till you get a soft mixture.
  • Mix dates paste, nuts and combine well.
  • Sprinkle cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Grease your hand with ghee, take small portions and start making balls when the mixture is still warm.
  • Optionally, you can roll the balls over roasted sesame seeds.
  • Serve or store in an air tight container once they cool down.

Notes

  • If you want more sweet, then add brown sugar or honey. But, for my taste, this is more than sufficient!!
  • You can increase dates according to your taste. Make sure to use soft dates. You can also add figs to this.
  • The quantities and proportions of nuts is your choice, but maintaining the minimum ratio of dates to nuts is important.
  • Start making Ladoo when mixture is slightly warm because if it cools down, you won’t be able to make the ladoos.
  • You can also add pecans, raisins, dried cranberries and any dry fruits of your choice.
  • While making these ladoos make sure no wet utensils or hands are used as it can spoil the ladoos and you cannot store it for long.
