Ingredients

  • For the Dough:
  • 2 Cups All purpose flour Maida, sifted
  • A Pinch of Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • Required Warm water to knead
  • For the Topping:
  • 10 Garlic pods peeled & minced, divided
  • 2 Tablespoons finely chopped Coriander
  • 1 teaspoon Nigella seeds optional
  • Ghee or butter to drizzle on top
  • 1 tablespoon flour for dusting

Instructions

  • In a bowl add flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, oil, yoghurt, and minced garlic. Mix well, add required warm water and knead to a smooth dough.
  • Cover and set aside for 30 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix minced garlic and finely chopped coriander.
  • After 30 minutes, divide the dough into 8 equal balls.
  • Dust with flour and roll to an oval shape.
  • On one side of the naan, sprinkle garlic coriander mixture and some nigella seeds & press to stick.
  • Turn the naan upside down, apply a few drops of water.
  • Heat a griddle over medium heat. Place the watery side on the griddle and close it with a lid.
  • Bubbles come out on naan surface, cook it for 1 minute.
  • Then turn the tawa upside down and roast the Naan directly on high flame till you get golden brown spots.
  • Apply ghee or butter immediately and serve.
